The idea of a mass shooting was something both Gemmill and Sachs were very interested in covering.
And so it seemed like a subject that we should address in some way.

So it was a good combination of necessity and what stories we wanted to tell."
And I think the public becomes numb to that.
And also the psychological and moral trauma for the healthcare providers that have to step up and take care.
So that’s something that you don’t really see or read about very often."
“So we start to figure out where it should end, or where it should happen.
Do we need to have an episode after the mass casualty to reset and then a finale?
So those things are just practical decisions.”
The series creator was also very wary of havingThe Pittring hollow in its handling of such a sensitive topic.
Not just ‘thoughts and prayers.’
And unfortunately, it’s happened a lot.
Will ‘The Pitt’ Try a Similar Scenario in Season 2?
The Pittis set up well for the long haul on Max.
Gemmill admitted that there were still medical emergencies that didn’t make the cut in Season 1.
However, the setup may change a bit for Season 2.
