The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been successful since its beginning way back in 2008.
Things are very different for those movies that are mediocre at best, though.
The visual effects were incredibly rough, and the plot was simply pretty weak.

Nobody truly knows what went wrong behind the scenes, but needless to say, something did.
So the poor performance was definitely a hindrance to the future of the studios' plans.
Everything that went wrong here is a testament of Marvel Studios' early issues.
He gave The God of Thunder some rewatchable scenes, but it felt likesuch a wasted MCU casting.
Regardless of the reasoning, the disappointing box office numbers forThe Marvelsare certainly unfair.
Safe to say, the cast and crew behindThe Marvelsdeserved a lot better than what they received.
While the first entry in the trilogy was well-received, this follow-up was certainly not.
For the majority ofAnt-Man’s pre-production, Edgar Wright was hailed for donning the director’s hat.
The result was good, withAnt-Manbeing one of the better solo origin films in the series.
The film is easily one of the best-directed Marvel Studios films, with Oscar-winning directorChloe Zhaoproducing something visually spectacular.
Unfortunately, though, the plot and writing were weaker than many had hoped for.
With such a star-studded cast,Eternalsideally would have been executed a bit better.
Many claimed the film to be “boring” and far too slow.
Again, much likeAnt-Man,many have far too high expectations for Marvel Studios at this point.
The film’s lackluster performance was, again, mostly blamed on the global pandemic.
Indeed,Shang-Chicould have easily done a lot better had it been released in a better year.
