Throughout the 21st century in particular, there’s plenty to pick from.

These aren’t particularly exceptional movies, either, but they’re certainly far better.

Happy Feetis definitely not beyond redemption.

Everything Everywhereis a fantastic film, one ofthe greatest Best Picture winners of the 21st century, even.

It’s funny, but it’s not particularly memorable compared to Curtis’s fellow nominees that year.

Saldana swept the entire awards season, making her eventual Oscar victory a surprise to absolutely no one.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean it’s agoodwin quite the contrary.

It’s not the kind of performance that cinephiles like to see win Oscars.

The same can’t be said aboutthe film’s music, which is probably itsworstaspect.

For a musical, this is a lethal sin.

It’s probably the best song of the film, but that barely qualifies as a compliment.

It’s a poorly written song performed with all the vocal prowess of a late-night karaoke number.

Sadly, that isn’t for a good reason.

It’s one of themost disliked Oscar wins of all time, let alone of the 21st century.

One of those wins includedthe single most unbelievably bad Best Film Editing victoryin the history of the Academy Awards.

With films likeBrokeback Mountainalso having been made in 2005,Crashis most definitelynotthe best motion picture of that year.

Perhaps, but how exactly does this make a movie worthy of the biggest award in the film industry?

It will forever remain a mystery.

The Academy clearly didn’t get the memo back in 2003, though.
