Summary
MacPhersons Jacob has his world rocked yet again in the tail end ofThe Way HomeSeason 3.
However, his actions were still captured by security cameras and Lewis wants to press charges for attempted arson.
In hopes of putting a stop to the letters, Jacob opts to vanish once again.

I think it speaks to how good you are in both roles, so huge congratulations!
To start, I wanted to lean into that a little.

SPENCER MACPHERSON: Great question.
There’s so many things that are rushing into my head.
WithThe Way Home, you get to do all your coverage with the other actors.

But I guess it all just comes down to dissecting the amazing scripts that they write.
That’s what it’s all about.

The eyeline inSchool Spiritsis always something that fascinates me.
Do you find that more difficult?
Did it take some serious adjustment to basically be looking right down the barrel?

MACPHERSON: Yeah, it’s a trip.
I don’t know if I’m used to it yet either.
You all do it really well, and it’s such an effective visual choice for that show!
Alright, a whole bunch of questions aboutThe Way Homefor you now.
MACPHERSON: There’s such a journey he went on through Season 3.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d had to take a life or something like that.
Him and Thomas were bad dudes.
We don’t really know.
Maybe he’ll bite.
But like you said, with TV in general, you don’t really know.
It’s a fascinating situation to be in as an actor!
It’s such a weird puzzle to me!
MACPHERSON: Yeah, they’re fantastic on that show.
MACPHERSON: Oh my gosh, I love Danny as a character.
That scene, particularly, was really tough when he’s manipulating him.
It’s sad to see.
I remember being really reticent to go for it while we were shooting.
It’s not a long scene, and he kind of has to have this really seismic shift.
But they’re so cool with playing with the scenes on the day and figuring out the temperature.
I always have to remind myself of that when I get disappointed in certain decisions!
I wanted to see more of Jacob have some fun at the bar!
MACPHERSON: Right?!
Maybe in Season 4, knock on wood.
What is it like being the person who has to take the angerAndie MacDowellis exuding in that scene?
MACPHERSON: Well, for one, I adore Andie MacDowell.
That was the last scene of the night, and I was like, Ooh.
You don’t want to be on the receiving end of her wrath, I guess.
But she’s fantastic in that scene and in the show.
MACPHERSON: Actually, very true.
It was kind of a rush, I must say.
I was like, Oh my god, Andie MacDowell is yelling at me right now!
I feel like youve got to wear that with a badge of honor!
Angry About Jacobs Choices in The Way Home Season 3?
MacPherson assures, The writers know what theyre doing.
I think it’s a culmination of a lot of things.
In the final episode, he’s just facing the consequences of his actions.
And I have a feeling you don’t know much about whats to come.
By the way, I didnt even say this, congratulationson the renewal!
MACPHERSON: Thank you so much.
I cannot wait.
He’s also in a place where he isn’t willing to accept what they’re presenting.
But I love that scene, and I love Vaughan.
Theyre so incredible in the show, and their character has so much mystery surrounding them.
That scene was really, really fun to make.
How did the two of you work together to juggle those layers?
MACPHERSON: Well, theyre incredible.
[Laughs] When I see that in coverage, Im like, Whoa!
Did the fans alert you to that after the fact?
There’s a lot of theories about that right now!
I have my own theories, as well.
I just don’t want to say too much.
That’s fair enough.
I’ll respect that to a degree …
This particular question was inspired by one of Colton’s lines in this final episode.
MACPHERSON: He was pretty steadfast in it being a curse.
I would have to say he sees it as a curse.
It’s brought him so much pain, torn his life away from him.
But Jacob might be the one exception to the rule.
So, I dont know.
I am quite eager to see some of that.
MACPHERSON: Great question.
Well, I need to know more about Casey.
That’s paramount in terms of my list.
I’ve always loved the Roaring 20s.
The idea of a bunch of Canadian actors going, Hey!
Listen here, see?
Thatd be a great thing to stumble into.
[Laughs]
From the viewer’s perspective, we don’t know where he goes.
I could totally see him going back to the 20s!
[Laughs] I guess, at a certain point, there needs to be justifications.
I’m trying to think, when would Fern have been …
Oh, that’s a good call.
MACPHERSON: Maybe there’s something to tackle there.
Here’s another theory-punch in question for you.
MACPHERSON: Ive got to say Colton.
I love Jefferson Brown so much.
I’d like for him to really get his last 10 minutes with Colton and get some closure there.
I think that if Jacob went to therapy, that would be his big breakthrough.
I feel like that’s where a lot of things stem from is the lost relationship with his father.
So, yeah, I would love for him to get that.
