MTV seems to be running out of storylines forTeen Mom, especially when it comes toAmber Portwood.

Amber acknowledges her past mistakes, but shes also insistent that she deserves forgiveness.

YetLeah, who has lived through it all, is now choosing to keep her distance.

And thatdecision makes a lot of sense.

Despite the lack of communication, Amber hasnt hesitated to voice her disagreement.

I havent slept for two days.

I havent eaten for two days, Amber said.

“This s— sucks that my daughters turning 16 and she dont want to see me.

She already made it known that she doesnt want me in her life.

I got her presents anyway, and Im going to write her a card today.

Instead of reflecting on why Leah made her decision, Amber repeatedly emphasizes how it affects her.

Its part of herlarger pattern of prioritizing her pain over her daughters feelings.

Its been frustrating fans for years, so imagine how Leah must feel.

Looking back, Leah may have been on to something.

ButAmber completely (and rudely) shut her daughter down, on her birthday no less.

I dont want [Amber] around but I do have abandonment issues from it, Leah said.

It doesnt hurt me that shes not here.

Its just the fact that she did it in the first place.

When she was supposed to be there is whats affecting me, she continued.

This isnt the first time Amber has lamented about not seeing her daughter.

But its more than just venting .

“I want to have my daughter with me.

I would love to have my daughter with me.

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter

I would love to do mom and daughter things.

Its up to her,” she said.

“She doesnt want to be around me at the moment, while shes in therapy.

However,Ambers tone quickly shifted from understanding to dismissiveas she downplayed Leahs feelings.

“Its not trauma.

She doesnt have trauma.

Shes had a rough life, yeah.

But guys, not everything is trauma.

And its not denial.

You cant call that trauma.

I didnt beat her.”

Ambers refusal to acknowledge her daughters perspective is telling.

Instead of showing empathy, she deflectsand insists that Leah should be grateful.

You cant sit there and do that with your kids.

And doing so will only going to make their strained relationship worse.

While Amber claims to put in the effort, shes never consistently been a maternal figure for Leah.

And unfortunately, some of those incidents involved Leahs dad.

She later pleaded guilty to two felony counts of domestic battery and received a two-year suspended sentence with probation.

But that wasnt the end of Ambers legal troubles.

However, history repeated itself after she welcomed her second child, son James, withAndrew Glennon.

In 2019, Amber was arrested in Indianapolis after allegedlyassaulting Andrew in front of their one-year-old son.

According to Andrew, Amber threw a shoe at him andthreatened him with a machete.

Think of when Gary dropped the bombshell thatLeah wanted to be adopted by her stepmom, Kristina.

Amber quickly rejected the ideaand accused Gary of trying to interfere with her relationshipwith Leah.

He continued, Leah is kind of like, the damage is all done.

But now that Leah is older, shes taken more control of her own narrative.

Earlier this year,Leah opened up to her co-star,Cheyenne Floyd, during an episode ofTeen Mom.

Cheyenne, who has previously defended Amber, seemed to gain a new perspective while listening to Leah.

It was a raw moment that allowed fans to see just how deeply Leah has been affected.

The conversation started with Cheyenne asking Leah if she had been talking to Amber recently.

I haven’t really talked to her or seen her in a while,” Leah admitted.

“It’s fine.

I don’t really care anymore.

I kind of want Kristina to adopt me.

Leah also expressed that itshard for her to handle her moms emotional outbursts.

“Obviously, she has a lot of different things going on, lots of difficulties.

I just feel like I can’t handle it…

I wish I could,” Leah said.

Yet Ambers inconsistency hasnt just been a thing of the past.

Sure, shes not behind bars anymore, buther behavior continues to be erratic and self-centered.

Leah has learned to prioritize her own well-being, and that means protecting herself from Ambers cycle of chaos.

Until then,Leah has every right to protect her own peace.
