In the animated film, she is a tender-hearted dreamer who does as she’s told.
In the 2015 version, James’s Ella is still gentle but independent and strong-willed.
She actively chooses to remain good despite the cruelty she endures, making her a stronger protagonist.
Negative reviews aren’t keeping audiences away.
Blanchetts performance of Lady Tremaine is nothing short of masterful.
The film takes the time to explore her character’s cruelty.
It puts the focus on Cinderella’s emotional journey that grounds her in our universe.
Visually,Cinderellais breathtaking.
Branagh inherently understands that the magic of a fairy tale doesn’t need to be flashy.
It’s the way it makes you feel.
It’s all about heart and storytelling.
Fans can only hope that studios look to Kenneth Branagh’sCinderellaas the model for future live-action movies.
But, not every remake is destined to wear the glass slipper.
