Then you already know the basic premise ofSneaks.
Obviously, Edson refuses, which angers The Collector.
While Maxine strives for a life of adventure, Ty would rather stay untouched and comfy inside his shoebox.
Sneaks is an animated feature released in 2025, focusing on Ty, a unique designer sneaker. When his sister is taken by a collector, Ty sets out on an adventurous rescue mission in New York City, where he encounters various footwear companions who help him discover courage and companionship.
There’s not a single shred of creativity.
Remember when there were those lousy-animated movies likeHappily N’ever Afterthat tried and failed to rip offShrek?
That’s basically whatSneaksfeels like.
‘Sneaks’ Lacks a Sole
It’s not thatSneaksnever attempts to have a heart to it.
It tries to teach a lesson about confidence and embracing oneself.
Unfortunately, that’s the same kind of message that we get from most bad family movies.
There is not a single ounce of creativity on display.
It’s understandable why they may have taken this job.
Yet, they fail to do so.
Sneaksis the kind of movie where the bare minimum amount of effort is put in.
However, it did have the benefit of being a parody.
WhileSneaksisn’t in on the joke, it is the joke.
Which begs the question: what kind of person would root for a talking shoe anyway?
Sneaksopens in theaters on April 18.
Not even its stacked cast can save it.
