You did it in your own way.

Because we know Shauna did know in the past.

You did it in your own way.

Wasn’t how I expected, but… [Laughs]

100%.

SUTTON: No, I didn’t get to meet her.

But I don’t think she thought it out fully in any way.

She just made a quick decision.

He calls her the C word, and we don’t like that.

She’s going to save the girls, and he had to go.

SUTTON: I think she was attracted to how Kodi can handle himself in the wilderness.

She is studying survival.

That’s what she’s been doing for years.

She’s out here with Edwin, who really can’t survive.

The bugs are getting to him.

Everything is just getting to him.

He needs to be in a lab, protected by four walls.

So,it’s like more of the survival part of him is attractive.

I think after Edwin gets axed by Lottie, she is replaying all of the times Edwin doubted Kodi.

So, the moment where she’s like, about the rucksack, Who’s Erik?

Shewasa little dazed by Kodiak in some way.

Was Hannah Ever Really Team Shauna?

Moving on to this finale, because what a finale.

She’s right there with the weapon when they’re searching Natalie’s hut.

I’m curious how you think she actually got into that position.

There are so many perks that come with being on Shauna’s side because you’re kind of protected.

She gets a weapon.

So really, she has the most power if anything happens.

She’s now holding the crossbow.

Also, she’s wearing Edwin’s clothes now.

She’s able to change outfits because now Shauna is allowing her to have a little more freedom.

She lives among them.

I promise you, I’m on your side.

I think she’s just waiting for the right moment to save herself and everybody else.

You mentioned her clothes changing.

I feel like her style during that card-pulling scene is so interesting.

She has that black eye makeup going on.

Like, This is what we do.

This is what we look like during this.

And if so, who do you think was helping her?

SUTTON: Part of me thinks that someone was helping her do all of those things.

No one fully explained this to me.

I feel like it has to be probably someone like Gen or Melissa.

We know that’s who she’s the closest with.

So, probably one of them just being like, Okay, well, pick out an outfit.

Pick out a thing.

We’re going to do this thing.

Ashley Sutton Is Sure She’s a Pit Girl

I survive.

We find out that Hannah was originally supposed to be a Pit Girl, which is crazy.

What was your reaction to finding that out for the first time?

SUTTON: Well, I actually didn’t know either way what she was going to be.

I just assumed going in she would be Pit Girl.

That makes sense in storytelling that this is the season that this happens.

This is so crazy.

Well, how fun.

And then I get [Episode] 10, and I’m like, Oh.Oh.

Oh, I make it.

It’s not me.

It was really shocking.

Obviously, I’m very excited to continue Hannah’s story.

She is so funny.

She stands up to Shauna so many times.

Alexa [Barajas] is just so beautiful to watch.

So, part of me kept saying, We haven’t explored the relationship with Gen and Melissa.

Will Hannah Sacrifice Herself for the Yellowjackets?

She sees so much of herself and Alex in each of them.

Do you believe that will eventually come back into play?

Because I can see Shauna using that as so much leverage.

But it also makes me be like, Wow, alright, who rigged it against me?

Because clearly they wanted me gone, which I understand.

Theyre children, and she sees that.

She was a teenage mom, and the trauma of just experiencing adult things a little too young.

Can Natalie Truly Trust Hannah in ‘Yellowjackets’ Season 4?

She can see that there are two queens.

That scene with her pinned against the tree by Natalie is so interesting.

Do you think she actually trusts Natalie more than Shauna, or is she still playing both sides?

Because Natalie does have her back against the wall, quite literally.

Do you think it is a trust thing, or do you think it was another snap decision?

SUTTON: I think she trusts Natalie.

I think she intentionally went out to seek Natalie.

Everyone listens to Natalie.

Everyone is scared of Shauna, so they listen to Shauna because they’re terrified.

She really wants to get home, and I think Hannah sees that.

There are so many moments where she could have pinned stuff on Natalie, and she doesn’t.

I love that she disguises herself as Natalie, too.

It’s such a small moment and I know she is just standing there, but I believed.

Did you study the way that Sophie carries herself to make that believable?

What did you do to prepare to verify that you would be able to pull that off?

SUTTON: Well, I kind of studied a little bit of how Sophie walks.

We just kind of walk differently.

There just needed to be this posture.

So, really, it was just kind of playing that through all of those moments.

I’m curious what you think that plan looked like, because masterful job of getting around Shauna.

So when I come in and I find Natalie, I don’t know what’s happening.

She doesn’t know if she can trust me.

That’s all in her court for her to decide to trust me.

And then we switch, and it’s the best way to get Natalie on top of the mountain.

I love that final shot.

SUTTON: I know!

This ’90s Teen Queen Could Definitely Pass for Present-Day Hannah

Ifshe pulled a Melissa.

So, Hannah is presumably dead, but we also thought that Melissa was dead.

SUTTON: Someone like Katie Holmes, maybe.

I guess that would be my choice if I got to choose.

I don’t get to choose.

No, I can totally see that.

The last question is, I’m so curious about shooting these winter hunt scenes.

Is it actually cold?

Do they make it cold?

It looks so believable to me, and I know there are probably logistics that go into that.

What does it feel like playing winter on a set?

It’s not ice or a cold thing at all, so it’s not cold.

But no, we were all warm and snuggly in those coats and those furs.

They did such a good job because it looks so real.

It’s so believable, and it’s all practical stuff.

They really covered everything in that snow paper stuff.
