It’s not surprising that occasionally, the episodes followed a similar formula or utilized the same story beats.

(Clearly, Hawkeye’s Season 3 plan to get Flagg out of their business failed.)

They may not be Lacy’s men, but they’re butthey’re still at war.

“You treated a symptom,” BJ says sadly, “the disease goes merrily on.”

He’d have gotten Hawkeye a court-martial or worse.

The show has aged better than the movie, but by how much?

All of these small differences add dimension and some stakes to the repeated scenario.

Witnesses who know Hawkeye did this before aren’t there to point it out.

And the characters who are there are less willing to go along with his radical ideas.

(They’re just, thankfully, not total snitches like Frank would be.)
