It was like, Do I want to do a slasher movie or a supernatural movie or body horror?
In this, it was like, Oh, I get to do all of it in one movie.
SANDBERG: I would say it’s sort of both.

It’s sort of a continuation in many ways.
BUTLER: Yeah, what David said.

How does he play into this one without giving too much away?
SANDBERG: I love to hear that.
I watched it multiple times, and every time I watched it, I loved it.

SANDBERG: A lot about tension and building up to scares and things like that.
So, things like that.
Blair, you’ve also had plenty of experience writing horror, withHell FestandThe Invitationbeing prime examples.
How doesUntil Dawndiffer from anything you’ve done before?
So, that was very cool.
I enjoy slashers, but it just hasn’t been my favorite.
And the same with even a little part that’s like found footage.
Again, I was sort of surprised, like, This is really fun.
David and Blair, you’ve both dipped your toes into the superhero genre a little bit.
David, you mentioned theShazamfilms; Blair, you’ve worked onHelstrom.
Is there any other genre you would really like to explore in the future afterUntil Dawn?
Sci-fi horror would be amazing.
Something like thatEvent Horizon,Dead Spacekind of world.
Oh, my ears perked up when I heardDead Space.
SANDBERG: That’s what I would love to do.
BUTLER: I loveDead Space.
The great eyeball-piercing death in that one if you screw up.
That quick time event is delightful.
