Of course, I believe the news ofSpider-Man 4’s collapse is a bummer for fans of the franchise. CL We do not need a refresher. There’s also a lot of blatant (and expected) spinning in the press release. Spider-Man 4 was to have been released in 2011, but had not yet gone into production....

I’ve really enjoyed the lists I’ve posted this week and I hope you have too. However, this list I’ve been dreading. Unlike the other lists, there’s no real recommendation at work here. Movies has listed the top 10 most streamed trailers from their site in the past year. They’re all blockbuster movies except for one. But since it’s mostly blockbuster movies, there aren’t a lot of surprises. CL Of course, sometimes Yahoo! Movies gets an exclusive trailer and sometimes Apple.com gets it. Latino Reviewis reporting that Tobey Maguire’s people and the producers ofThe Hobbitare talking about having the actor topline Guillermo Del Toro’s highly-anticipated prequel toThe Lord of the Rings. Apparently, the story started to develop innocuously at the press junket forBrotherswhere Maguire was asked what director he would like to work with and he answered, “Guillermo Del Toro”. Then he had to go on and follow it up with, “We may have something here in the near future....

On that he delivered. To be fair, they uglied her up a bit in the first film. So much fiction that’s followed has drawn much from this blueprint. CL But this is all news to Harry. It was a ground setter, and the ground is now fairly solid.
