This week, I find that we have a plethora of coverage for various titles. For whatever reason, people are pretty excited about seeing it. A group of fairly attractive teens avoids some sort of fatal incident by way of premonition. Death becomes very agitated by said avoidance and vows to catch up to the group in fantastical ways. In all honesty, it probably wasn’t the most popular decision to approach the decision pragmatically....

It’s not easy to adapt a book.A If it were, we’d have better movies.A Also, it’s next to impossible to adapt a series likeHarry Potter, which has so many fans invested in every scene that choosing what to use and what to omit is like walking through a minefield.A And that’s the reason why Steve Kloves needs to be congratulated. Splitting J.K. Rowling’sHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallowswas a risky proposition from a narrative standpoint. Both parts ofHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallowsmanaged to avoid that problem. It is the grandest of all of theHarry Potterfilms in scope, in action, and in heartbreak. Instead, it serves as a delicious appetizer to the feast of that is The Battle of Hogwarts. Fans of the books will be on board for the whole film....

Here are my brief thoughts on the films. Hopefully when the Blu-ray box set comes out, I can do full-length reviews for each of the movies. He also did a fantastic job casting the adult actors. Thankfully, my doubts were put to rest one film later. In the first five minutes, Radcliffe is twenty times better than he was in all ofSorcerer’s Stone. Columbus also got a better handle on the series....
