Reacher pulled no punches on his third outing literally.

Collider: When you joined the show, what were you hoping for with this character?

MARIA STEN: I didnt really have any expectations when I first joined, quite frankly.

I was like, Ooh, this is great.

And I read the books and thought, Oh, theres so much to sink my teeth into.

We barely scratched the surface in Season 1.

For me, thats what I am excited about when I find a character.

Its more, What is it that shes not talking about?

It feels like there are many things Neagley is up to when we dont see what shes doing.

I didnt really have any expectations.

Its just great to see the fans so involved in this show and these characters.

I never know whats going to happen the next year.

Im like, Oh, theyre doing another [season].

Am I in it?

So, thats been an interesting journey.

Reacher meets with Duffy in the Reacher Season 3 finale.

Ive had to change my relationship to it.

I show up because theres a mission that has to get done.

When and how did you find out about the possibility of a spin-off?

STEN: There are always rumors.

Theres always, In success, maybe this could happen.

And youre like, Uh huh, sure, because its Hollywood, right?

Its not over until its over and its printed and has aired.

Im cautiously optimistic in that way.

And he also gets an epic fight in to cap off the season.

When retired Military Police Officer Jack Reacher is arrested for a murder he did not commit, he finds himself in the middle of a deadly conspiracy full of dirty cops, shady businessmen and scheming politicians. With nothing but his wits, he must figure out what is happening in Margrave, Georgia. The first season of Reacher is based on the international bestseller The Killing Floor by Lee Child.

Neagley has a lot going on in her life.

She has a history, and she has a life lived.

And we have rounded up such a great cast for this season of Neagley.

Im just thrilled to get going and sink my teeth in.

Did you ever think dance could help you become an action star?

STEN: Not necessarily, but Ive always been a very physical person.

And its great becauseI get to do my own stunts.

The stunt team works with me to accommodate for the fact that Im going to do my own stunts.

They shape it so that Im able to do so.

Reacher

STEN: Its certainly hard work.

We should make it look easy, but these ten-second or one-minute fights require lots of prep.

You really have to put in the effort.

I have a lot of respect for it.

I also dont have a middle path.

Im all or nothing, at all times.

When were in rehearsal, theyre like, Okay, just mark it and go slow.

And Im like, I cant.

They know that by now.

Theyre like, Yeah, she doesnt know how to do that.

We have a good gang.

Picking up the choreography is much easier when you are trained [in dance].

Theres definitely an upside to knowing how to be in your body and understand body movement.

The fight scene with the two men in Neagleys office in episode six is a lot.

[Nick] Santora knows what he wants and its very thought-out.

Most of that was on the page already.

“The whole point is you just watch Reacher get ragdolled for five minutes straight.”

How many times did you have to shoot that?

STEN: We only had two panes of glass, so we did it twice.

Thats what we got.

It was a major reset.

We were shattering the entire office and then had to do it again.

We did one very late before wrap, and then we did one first thing the next day.

Two takes were all we got.

Of course, I was like, Can we do it again?

I think I can do better.

And they were like, No, we got it.

Was that also scripted?

STEN: I wish I was that clever.

I like to think Im funny, but Im not quick-witted.

I cant be snappy.

Im not super strong in improv.

So, yes, that was scripted.

I have a silly sense of humor, so I chuckled when I first read that.

Neagley isnt fazed very easily.

Shes basically seen it all, at this point.

Because Reacher keeps moving locations, he seems to leave a string of women behind.

Will we see more personal sides of Neagley in her spin-off?

Im so impressed with what they were able to do with the scripts for this Neagley show.

Its so its own thing, but of course, it’s true to theReacherspirit.

It certainly is about whats going on in her personal life, as well as her professional life.

Most of the time, for people like this, the two tend to overlap.

What is your favorite moment with Reacher and Neagley this season?

Are you sure you know what youre doing?

Yeah, he knows what hes doing and were gearing up for war.

Theyre declaring their love for each other in those moments, and those are always super exciting.

That really puts things in perspective, as far as the way he operates.

STEN: Yeah, certainly.

That also speaks to the dynamic that they have.

With nothing but his wits, he must figure out what is happening in Margrave, Georgia.
