The Pogues are thriving off the land and living in otherwise harmonious bliss.

But when the Kooks join in on the fun at the same beach, conflict is bound to ensue.

Disguised as an EMT, JJ sneaks through the prison gates claiming to collect an inmate suffering from appendicitis.

Its quite absurd to believe that a teenager can steal an ambulance and break into jail.

As he tells his father, So Im just the son of some kook, then?

We see him endure horrifying abuse and poverty which, in part, accounts for his actions.

As his (adopted) father tells him, I should have been a better father.

He faces an identity crisis which only deepens the characters complexity.

Its a turning point in a season that will ultimately be JJs last.

They found El Dorado, have the gold, and a bank account containing over $1 million.

Naturally, this group of unsupervised teenagers does not spend their money wisely.

Thats the Pogue way, after all.

What a great first impression.

His fascination with both water and adventure is shown in the first episode as he backflips off the boat.

These facets - water, and adventure - become a major plot point for the Poguesduring their treasure hunt.

Naturally, this creates chaos.

But JJ is not ashamed of this truth.

Remember, John B. once labeled his best friend a mild klepto and tax cheat.
