Jeff Probsthas been our fearless leader onSurvivorsince 2000.
While the show has evolved in 25 years, so has Jeff.
In the historic scene fromSurvivor 48, Jeff Probst does something I never see him do: cry.

But that doesn’t mean that Jeff Probst is present for all of them.
He was there cheering on players likeCirie FieldsandNoelle Lambertas they pushed to complete a challenge that was already over.
I’ve never seen him as an arbitrator of anything but neutrality.
Now, that seal has been broken.
These castaways are ready to run ‘Survivor 48.’
There is something deeper within the veteran host that goes beyond the steadfast host that he is.
It was only a matter of time before we saw him crack.
Im not surprised it happened because the game is raw and emotional.
Ifeel it when I watch it at home.
I need more scenes like this in the future.
To anyone hoping that if they step forwardas they aresomeone will stand beside them.
That kind of human connectionits not just an idea.
And when it happens, it stays with you.
It was an honor to witness.
Ill carry it with me forever."
Probst’s momentary lapse in persona will not change anything, only enhance the depth of his character.
He has the freedom to emote because we want him to.
If this doesnt help Jeff Probst earn another Emmy nomination, I dont know what will!
