With a bit of an over-saturation of reality television, it’s hard to become a breakout star.
ForDickson Wong, it seemed way too easy.
Which may have benefited his opponents.

How are you feeling?
I couldn’t be more thankful for this experience.
And I’d do it all over again if I could.

COLLIDER: Let’s start simple.
If you could describe your experience in three words, what would they be?
DICKSON: That’s a great question.
Memorable, exciting, and adventurous.
Will [Kirby],Parvati [Shallow],and David.
That was very exciting.
And then even the island girlfriend stuff with the bracelet.
That got my heart pounding.
So that was exciting too.
But you know, I’m proof right here that they do cast small towns.
So I’m very, very thankful for that.
COLLIDER: From small town to the Banker’s Private Island.
What was that jump like?
How beautiful was it?
DICKSON: Oh gosh.
You know, when I got to Panama, I never been out of the country by myself before.
I went to the Bahamas for my graduation gift in high school, but I wasn’t by myself.
This was a completely new experience.
I was out of the country by myself, and I absolutely loved it.
bBeing able to travel the world by myself and experience that.
Panama was absolutely beautiful.
It’s just so hard to explain.
COLLIDER: Let’s discuss your game-changing win against the Banker.
What was it like making history and knowing that it did help your placement in the game?
DICKSON: Oh my freaking gosh.
So when I won $5,000,000, it was such a great feeling.
So I had case number four and case number nine left.
And case number nine actually hadRock [Carlson]‘shighest amount whenever he beat the banker.
But it was a great experience.
And then pulling off a big blind side, it’s every reality fan dream come true and more.
Tell me about how you were officially adopted as the son.
Me, Parvati, and David.
We sat on the swing.
And that was my swing set where I sat every single morning.
You know, I thought it was cool because hey, Parvati’s a legend.
Again, I didn’t know who David was at the time.
I was down on Benadryl.
They had so much going on.
I was so loopy during that.
But the one thing I do remember is that David sat with me on that couch the entire night.
So, of course, I would want to work with somebody like that.
COLLIDER: So you obviously had a little crush on Parvati in the past.
How did you all let her get, be safe for nine straight weeks?
DICKSON: Absolutely mind-blowing.
That might be scripted," or something like that.
I can attest right now.
None of that was rigged.
Any single case that she got, that’s the case that she got.
And it was mind-blowing.
COLLIDER: She was lucky.
DICKSON: She was the luckiest person on the island.
And the fact that she won safety nine times is still mind-blowing.
Lete believed you might actually be ready to work with her.
In your ideal world, what would have happened if everything worked out according to plan?
So the first reason was to build that trust with Lete.
But I would have overall taken her out if I would have faced the Banker.
And the reason why is because in the last excursion I sat out during the challenge.
But Lete was my target.
I did have the option of turning to her if I was ready to pull from The Family.
The ideal scenario, to answer your question, would’ve been for me to take out Lete.
COLLIDER: My favorite thing to do each week is to ask everyone aboutCK Kim.
She has been enemy number one, but no one can get rid of her.
COLLIDER: Are you shocked at how far she’s gotten in this game?
She had a relationship with Parvarti since day one.
And the best move would have been to choose CK despite her being a target.
But they would have gone after Parvati or David over me.
So I think that was my downfall in the game was not working with CK.
‘Deal or No Deal Island’ wouldn’t be as fabulous without the Banker’s Assistants!
You know, I work at a rec center.
We have a gymnastics room.
You hear about what the challenge is beforehand, and they say a balance beam.
I’m like, “Oh, I cross a balance beam all the time!”
I walk across the thing at work all the time.
Like, it’s not that hard.
As soon as I got on that platform, I saw that beam.
Which, the red cases were heavier.
You kind of ended up being collateral this week for this little battle between David and Lete.
Were you frustrated that your fate in the game was out of your hands?
DICKSON: I want to say yes, but no.
It goes back to what my downfall was, which was choosing David.
This entire thing, in my opinion, could have been prevented if I would have chosen CK next.
And Lete would have been just as bad of a move if I would have chose Lete.
Because if I did choose Lete, then The Family’s against me now.
Which was David and Parvati.
And the fact they were both safe, the likelihood of that happening is not very high either.
That really screwed my game over I think.
I had three different chances.
My first chance was getting across the balance beam, getting across the mud.
Which after David went, David broke the challenge.
So it was so much easier for everyone.
The second thing is I should have chosen CK next.
And I sat at the hotel that night.
For me, it was failure.
DICKSON: I hold myself to very high standards where failure is not an option.
I’m an overachiever, and it can be a bad thing at times.
It was to the point where Parvati just said, “Let him face the Banker.”
He still didn’t let me face the Banker.
I asked 20 million times.
aAnd if I would have I would have made a good deal.
Because one thing, you know, I told you before I’m paying attention to the numbers.
The number I would have chose was case number 11.
And this is, so I technically made it to finale week.
This was deemed finale week.
So we had two days off.
We had Saturday and Sunday off.
And you know, for me, this game, it’s heads and tails, right?
you might only hit heads so many times before it eventually lands on tails.
Which is the reason why I didn’t want to face the Banker in the first place.
Whenever I was doing the whole La Shell thing.
the edit doesn’t show all of that.
DICKSON: So once you make one good deal, that’s a 50% chance.
Then it breaks down to 12.5%.
It wasn’t looking too hot.
But I would have made a good deal.
I would have stayed in the game.
So there’s so many different things that I could have done I think to stay in this game.
I don’t I don’t regret anything.
COLLIDER: You are proving that you are a strategic mastermind.
Are there any other reality TV shows that you’re ready to hop into?
COLLIDER: Both games are about blindsiding.
Talk to me about that.
DICKSON: Yeah, you know, me and Lete kissed after the show.
I mean, I’m gonna be honest with you.
But it made it, it made it.
And yeah, me and Lete did kiss.
COLLIDER: I love it.
Well, Dickson, you are incredible.
I cannot wait to see what happens next for you because we need more Dickson on our TV.
DICKSON: I appreciate it so much, Michael.
Thank you so much for taking time to interview me.
I really appreciate it.
