She exists not only in the canon but in Arthurian legend as well.
She first appears inHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fireto interview the four Triwizard Champions about the upcoming trials.
Thus, she can observe her targets while escaping detection.
It is kind of a brilliant strategy, in an evil genius kind of way.

He could assume the shape of a rat, which is what got him the nickname “Wormtail.”
However, his identity was eventually exposed inHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Unfortunately, his animal form is never seen in the films, but it is mentioned in the books.
The fourth Marauder is Remus Lupin (David Thewlis).
However, he is a werewolf rather than an Animagus.
It is this sneaky animal form that earned him the nickname “Padfoot.”
