The only real highlight is Streep, whodisappears into the role and carries the entire film on her back.
This delightful film is one of theultimate comfort watchesjust dont watch it on an empty stomach.

Looking back, its easy to argue thatthe Academy should have handed the gold to Streep instead.
IfThe Postwere to be her final nomination (though thats unlikely), its a strong one.
Directed bySteven Spielberg,The Postonly received two Oscar nominations: Best Picture and Best Actress for Streep.
That lack of broader recognition was surprising, especially withTom Hanksturning in a reliably great performancealongside her.

Streep, meanwhile, was nominated alongsideCatherine Zeta-Jones, who swept the season for her electric performance inChicago.
Given the films genre, it was unexpected (and refreshing) to see the Academy recognize her performance.
InDoubt, Streep plays Sister Aloysius, a stern nun, ina quiet yet deeply commanding performance.
All four lead actors received nominationsand rightfully so.
Their scenes together are electric.
Streeps final emotional monologue is unforgettable and one of her most haunting moments on screen.
