If anyone has had a rough go at the cinema, it’s Marvel’s first family.

One can only hope thatFantastic Four: First Stepsdoesn’t follow in the footsteps of these movies.

But some of them aren’t all bad, either.

There can be gems in the dirt.

What makes it even worse is the fact thatAct One of the movie is truly not that terrible.

While the entire truth may be unknown, something definitely went down behind the scenes.

Enough for directorJosh Trank to publicly disown the filmbefore it even released.

With some digging, the film can be found (pretty easily, actually) and viewed.

So, it still got a public release of sorts.

The practical effects for 1994 are actually pretty decent.

There’s a cult following that truly does like this movie for all of its flaws and successes.

Performances from the whole cast are pretty good and the story is serviceable enough to warrant a rewatch.

The filmmakers did a great job juggling the Silver Surfer plot while bringing back the likes of Doctor Doom.
