When the human drama was at a minimum, this one worked pretty well.
That can, sometimes, truly be enough.
This is because as far as reboots go,Kong: Skull Islandhits so many beats it needs to.
It gets the balance mostly right, thankfully.
But as far as early 21st century epics go, 2005sKing Kongis pretty great, and admittedly definitely epic.
Let the haters hate.
