Its a clear, visual reminder of how science and ethics dont always tread the same road.
However,Jar Citys Detective Erlendur doesnt fit neatly into that box.
In the film, Erlendur isnt a stylish, chain-smoking intellectual who solves crimes like theyre basic-level crossword puzzles.
Shestruggles with addictionand unfortunately for both of them, Erlendur is painfully bad at being there for her.
In ‘Loving Adults, it’s ‘till death do us part literally.
Then theres his approach to police work.
Hes not got thatSherlock suavenessabout him.
While he is persistent and sometimes abrasive, hes also prone to missteps.
His method is less about showing off his skills of deduction and more about the power of stubborn determination.
Take the way he digs into the murder case inJar City its nothing if not slow and grueling.
Even more, its intertwined with secrets the authorities would rather ignore.
Its thisborderline obsessive drivethat eventually cracks the case.
