He imbued Spike with all the heart and sympathy present throughout his run.
Whedon conceived of Dawn as someone Buffy could care for aside from a romantic interest.
She started out immature and whiny, then blossomed into a graceful teen and a potential Slayer.
Despite fan complaints over Dawn’s whiny nature in season six, she’s not the most hated character.
Initially, their schemes went unnoticed by the Scooby Gang, who assumed they were some annoying demons.
After Warren killed his ex-girlfriend in a fit of rage, the threat to Buffy increased.
The Trio posed a real danger to Buffy, unlike any of the demons she had to fight.
However, the focus quickly shifted to Willow once she went Dark and on her revenge plot.
The Trio fizzled out fast before any message could be made of them.
But while Cordelia later became an ally to Buffy, Harmony stayed the same.
She was in a toxic situationship with Spike, who later dumps her for Buffy.

With that, he cemented his place as Buffy’s friend and a core member of the Scooby Gang.
The redeeming qualities stop there.
He later breaks up with her and seems to settle with his demon girlfriend Anya (Emma Caulfield).
While Buffy and the others matured, he stayed the same.
Just becauseXander was a memberof the original Scooby Gangtrio doesn’t mean he deserves to return.
The fans are counting on Nora and Lila Zuckerman to deliver.
