This coincides with the theatrical release of its highly-anticipated sequel,28 Years Later, on June 20, 2025.

It then spawned a standalone sequel in 2007, titled28 Weeks Later.
Danny Boyle sat out directing duties for the film, with it instead being helmed byJuan Carlos Fresnadillo.
Cillian Murphy is also set to reprise his character in the upcoming threequel.
