Its an understatement to say there are a ton ofGodzillamovies.

Thats also business as usual for the series, and theres nothing wrong with that.

But then, in this particular movie, things get fantastical and even mythical in exceedingly interesting ways.

At the risk of simplifying things, the earliest Godzilla movies predated digital/CGI effects.

Then, by the 2010s, the monsters were largely just CGI.

Also, some of the behind-the-scenes footage that came about because ofthe suit actors proved to be adorable.

And if you didnt hate Godzilla before he stomps all over Baragon, you definitely will after.

Its hard not toget invested in the fights here, and the similarly bittersweet ending is also expertly done.

Its a real emotional rollercoaster ride of a giant monster movie in all the best ways.
