Cult movies have different ways of eventually gathering their respective fan bases.

ForRocky Horror Picture ShowandThe Room, it was late-night showings in movie theaters.

So, yes, the occasional cult classic can also be regarded amongthe greatest films ever made.

Out of them all, one can argue that 1994’sThe Shawshank Redemptionis the king of cult classics.

Furthermore, this non-horror movie was adapted from a novella that was published within a larger collection of novellas.

Specifically, the story wasRita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, and the overall collection was calledDifferent Seasons.

Morgan Freeman blamed the title’s name, but there were a few much more significant factors.

Not like those films didn’t deserve their box office numbers, butShawshankdeserved just as much love.

ButShawshanktook home none of its Oscar nods, which only adds to its legend.

In summary, what happened at the box office was somewhat repeated at the respected award ceremony.
